Podcast wont download without access to my files?
One of the ways Windows Defender keeps your computer safe from internet evils is by employing its SmartScreen tool to keep you from downloading potentially harmful files or visiting malicious sites. On some occasions, however, you may find SmartScreen overstepping its bounds and blocking you from downloading a file you know to be safe.
I don't recommend turning SmartScreen off completely because it is helpful in preventing you from downloading a malicious file or app, but you can disable it in Microsoft's Edge browser if you want to override its protection and go ahead and download a file it doesn't recognize. You can disable SmartScreen in the Windows Defender Security Center app in total or just for Edge, but for the latter it's faster to do so right within Edge itself, particularly if you are already using Edge.
Any suggestions? I am using the podcast addict app successfully. Hey, I downloaded that App and it loaded all the podcasts but did it download them or will it be streamed as I listen? Did the app download the podcasts for you, or is there something else I need to do?
Thanks Aaron! I download them at home and they play right from the phone without using data. It will show all the episodes under the "all" category, then click into the specific episode and download the episode. It will have a downward facing arrow.
Then you can find it under downloaded episodes. Schelley Stamps Wow. I am just seeing this! I guess I haven't been very active here It really means a lot that you listen to The Real Wealth Show. I will give you a shout out on the next one! User profile for user: Markrial Markrial. May 5, AM in response to jordanmh7 In response to jordanmh7 I had the same issue for a couple days. After trying a bit this worked for me: I synced the podcast episode in question to my iphone, from itunes on my computer. Guide on how to do that here: Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support This did put the complete episode on my iphone, but the episode still showed as waiting for some reason.
I started playing the episode and fast-forwarded to the end so that it'd finish playing. I deleted the episode by swiping it towards the left and clicking delete. I downloaded it again over wi-fi without issue. It now sitsperfectly downloaded and ready for a proper listening without issue. I hope this works for you guys as well! To turn off Cellular Data, tap the toggle switch to turn it to white which indicates that the setting is turned off.
To turn on Only Download on Wi-Fi, tap the toggle switch to turn it to green which indicates that the setting is turned on. This screen will show you all podcasts to which you are subscribed. Tap the toggle button to turn notifications on or off. Within each show, you have more settings options. Apps that you use for music, videos, or podcasts? This is located in the Notifications setting. Overcast makes this an either-or — you can either stream or download, but not both.
Avoid the bottom setting, which allows you to use cellular data. Find this setting under Notifications for New Episodes. This is a per-podcast setting, which means you can turn it on only for the podcasts you really want to know about using the toggle switch to the side of each show.
